"No, Ayame. There is no need to apologize. If you must, blame it on your parents for making you a girl. You can't change who you are, so it isn't your fault," Sai replied to Ayame.
Sai wiped his tear off of his face when there was a moment of silence, but then he hear Hoji speak. He was going to leave....
"Hoji, please don't leave. Just because this day wasn't the best doesn't mean you have to leave for home. It still isn't fully night time, and we still can do a lot, especially under the moon. All four of us can help if you just give us a chance. Please?"
Sai looked back to the shinging cresent moon. He closed his eyes and imaged teh Water Tribe being rebuilt by jolly people. Then he saw all four of the kids helping as well. He knew that it would all be okay and opened his eyes...

Kavik shrugged, "For once I though I wasn't gonna live my life alone. Fine, run away Hoji. Go home then. You're not brave enough to have friends."
Kavik stormed off. He was angry. He didn't like Ayame and Sai was the root of the problem. He passed Sai and said coldly. "Do you always cause trouble?" He passed Ayame and gave a glare. He didn't like her at all. "I have to make dinner." He said as he walked off.
He was in a terrible mood. Hoji was being stubborn, Sai caused a problem with 'Speaking up' and Ayame. "Gah women can be such a burden! She was no help at all!" Kavik's looked a his broken skates. He had long night. A lecture from mom and dad. A beating by Kokomi and he had to fix his skates. Worst of all he was still in a terrible mood, bordering violent.

Ayame rolled her eyes at Sai's comment, but smiled a little. That is, until Kavik snapped.
Ayame glared back at Kavik; she couldn't believe this! It seemed like this boy had more mood swings than any girl! Just some minutes ago he was acting up, and now he snaps at Sai, who tried to be friendly to everyone!
And Hoji! Hoji didn't have to like her (she was positive Kavik didn't), but Sai had tried everything to become friends. Wasn't it suppose to be girls that were the complicated ones? But it seemed like guys had this world of their own. Maybe that's why she never fit in.
Ayame watched Kavik walk off, still glaring. "But he-I-I can't believe-Ugh!" She was so frustrated, she could barely stand it!
She slid down to the floor. Her head spun even more.
"Sai," she said, still seething, "I know trouble, and you are not trouble. Count on it."
She sighed.
"Spirit of the moon," she whispered wearily.

Hoji shook his head and bit his tongue, honestly trying not to laugh aloud in Sai's face. How could they help him? He didn't need any help in the first place.
And Kavik. What was that boy's problem. First admiration then he never wanted to see his face again. He had guts even if he wasn't too bright. He smirked. Temper, temper, Kavik, don't be so rash. What are you thinking, Hoji thought to himself, slightly amused at Kavik's antics. You where the one who wanted to be friends in the first place.
I just couldn't care less. He thought, returning his stare to the moon.
His eyes where downcast as they gazed at the white moon, still rising softly over the sky. He turned to Ayame as he heard her talk, about to snap again at her again when she mentioned the moon spirit.
"Yue." he said, looking at the girl. "The moon spirits name is Yue." Hoji then glanced back up at the moon, thanking the gods for his good bloodline.
"I met her before. When she was human."

Sai shaked again at Kavik's words. "Just... I don't know what to say. I usually never cause trouble like this. I don't really interact with other people, but even when I do, I don't cause trouble. You just change so quickly, Kavik" Sai said in a shaky voice.
Then he heard Hoji and Ayame talk about Princess Yue, the Moon Spirit. "I met her before also, and I think everyone has. Me and my family were devasted when she ... died. But I always thought that Yue brought friendship and peace to this tribe."
Sai saw Yue from far back most of the time, but never actually spoke to her. He knew that the Princess sometmes didn't like the tribe's customs.
"Well, I don't understand why we are trouble.... could someone dare to explain what's going on? I'm not leaving until this is cleared up, even if we are all friends or not."

"You aren't trouble. You just cause it. By no fault of your own, I'm sure."
Hoji turned fully around. "And why should I dare to explain? There isn't anything to explain Sai. Kavik's bipolar, you're naive and I'm going home." He rolled his eyes and sighed, glancing at Ayame.
"It might be better if you went home too." He said. Hoji looked at Sai. "Both of you. It's been an . . . eventful day." he said looking back at the city that was still under repairs after the earthquake.
Hoji walked past Sai and Ayame, brushing by them lightly, his long tunic flapping behind him. He stopped a few yards away from the two younger members of the Water Tribe. His shadow was steady in the glowing moonlight.
"And for the record." he said, choosing his words carefully, saying them with an actors precision. "We aren't friends." Hoji said, making sure that his voice was steady. He shook his head and continued the walk to his house.

Kavik stopped. He had to blow up again. Normally thing like this doesn't bother him but. This time it did. He should apologize for his temper at least.
"I'm sorry for being a little hot temper. I guess it's shouldn't have blown up in your face Hoji-Sempai. You too Sai. Please forgive me for my actions." Kavik was gonna take him time with these too. It's not like he wasn't use to having to wait for anything, especially friends. His head was beginning to ache. He looked at the moon. The pregant orb seemed to cast a cool glow on the quartet. "Ummm, Hoji I was wondering..." He was cut of by a shout. "OY FISH HEAD!" Kavik turned around to find his twin sister Kokomi storming towards him. He looked like Kavik except for her huge size and brutish exterior. Kavik blushed hard. "Ko-ko-ko-chan! What are you doing here?" Koko snorted. "Look for you what else worm?" Kavik turned to Hoji and said a little quickly. "I would be honored if you will join me and my family for dinner...in attonment for my actions." Kokomi grabbed Kavik by the hair and said. "Alright enough flirting Fish Head, It's dinner time."

The boy was walking when he heard Kavik talking to him. He turned around and listened, mildly interested. He should be at leaste be polite, he would have to deal with Kavik for a while if they where both to continue training under Pakku.
"It's alright, Kavik." He said, turning to head back to his house.
"Wondering what?" Hoji asked glancing at the boy. He saw, along with his classmate, a girl that looked like Kavik, except she was roungly the size of a small killer whale.
He frowned at Kokomi's rough treatment of her brother. He walked over to her and took her arm, using his own physical strength to try and pry her hand off the young water bender.
"I will be honored to join your family at dinner." He said, tightening his grip on Kokomi's wrist. "And I would hope that your entire line holds themselves in as high an esteem as this girl does," Hoji said softly, now looking at Kokomi. "Such confidence must surely come only from one who does not know her place."

Kavik groaned. "Ko-chan let go that hurts." Kokomi let go from his hair and when for the collar. "C'mon Fish Head, it's your turn to cook, and mama and papa are waiting." Kokomi glanced at Hoji. "Hey who's this Kav? Your boyfriend?" She said in almost joking manner. Kavik blushed red. "Ko-chan!! That not it! He's a..friend I invited him for dinner." Kokomi laughed, "I wonder sometimes if the gods made a mistake and should made you a woman." Kokomi pulled Kavik along the road. "Come on, our house it this way."
The pair lead them to a house with a pair of carabou antlers hanging in front. "Home sweet home" Annouced Kavik. Two people came out in the door. A heavy set woman with her hair in a bun and a medium build man with dark eyes and long hair. "My parent Hoji. My mother Nezumi and my father Shona." Kavik stood up from Kokomi grasp and said. "Mother, Father, we have a guest this, Hoji a classmate of mine."

Hoji released Kokomi when she let go of Kavik, giving her a stare as cold as the water that flowed through the city. He rolled his eyes at the girls comments, not really caring what Kokomi had to say about him. He followed behind the twins glaring disapprovingly at Kokomi's back.
The elder boy looked up interestedly at the antlers and then turned his gaze to Nezumi and Shona. As he was introduced he bowed to each of the adults in tern.
"Thank you for allowing me to come." he said, straightening up and gazing at them evenly. "Your son is a very good friend to invite in to enjoy the meal with you." Hoji said, glancing at Kavik.
The boy then turned his eyes toward Kokomi as the two parents welcomed him in, retreating inside the house. He grabbed onto the girls wrist and pulled her toward him, his eyes narrowed.
"Do not insult your brother again." he hissed into her ear. "I will not stand disrespect from a woman who does not honor her own brother."

Ayame watched as Hoji and Sai left for Kavik's home. It was late, and was she tired. Hoji was still a mystery to her, though. She shook her head a little. It was only her and Sai now, just like earlier that day.
"I've met the Princess once before," she said, standing up wearily, "She was nice. I guess I envy her a bit; mother wants me to be like Yue and all the other girls."
She shrugged, and then heard her stomach growl.
Ayame laughed. "I guess I'm hungry too."
She then had an idea. "Why don't you join me and my family for dinner? I'm sure my parents won't mind. And I'm betting you're hungry."
She felt a little better, feeling the moon's light shine against her. It couldn't only be waterbenders that benefitted form the moon, she thought. She then thanked the moon spirit, Yue for such light.

"Sure, Ayame. I would love to. First, could we stop at my house so I can tell my parents? I think we have time to do that...
Sai saw Ayame looking at the moon. He looked at the shining cresent and dozed into a memory...
'Good afternoon, people of the Northern Water Tribe! This is your cheif speaking, for those who can't see me. I would like to announce that Princess Yue is now gone. As we all know, the moon disappeared for a while yesterday by Zhao, the moon slayer. My daughter, Yue, gave up her life for all of us. She gave herself to the moon spirit. The moon spirit kept her alive for so many years, and she must do that same for the spirit. I would like a moment of silence for now.'
Sai bowed his head and prayed and thanked Yue for the deeds she has done. Later that day, he went to the palace and gave offering to Yue's family in their loss. He knew from that day on, things wouldn't be the same...
Sai 'woke up' and was startled. "Oh, sorry. Should we go now?"

Kavik walked into the rather nice house and looked in to the ingrediants he need for supper. "Ahhhh, Chicken, rice and ginger, oh tundraweed!" Kokomi sat on a stool and watched her brother cook.
"Better not burn the chicken tonight Fish Head!" She shouted. She looked a Hoji and gave a small grin, "So you're a friend of my brother huh? I never thought Fish Head, would attract anybody with his klutzyness." Kavik sneezed. "Gah, not while I'm cooking." Supper carry fresh aroma of herbs and roasted chicken. Shona walked by and took a deep breath. "Ahhh you're getting better Kav. Keep it up. After supper I want you practice some bending movements," But Kavik whinned "But Papa! I need to fix my skates! Ther-" Nezumi stormed in. "Don't dare talk like that you're father like that! You do what he tell you to do! Understand?" Kavik bowed, "Yes Mama"

Hoji raised an eyebrow. What an odd family. The son cooked, the daughter was a bully and both parents showed no care for the traditional man as the head of the house type of attitude. He smiled at Kokomi, looking as if he didn't arrange his features in such an expression too often.
The effect was unpleasant on Hoji's normally attractive features. "Please." he growled, through gritted teeth. "Show respect to your brother or I will have to teach it to you."
Hoji turned his gaze onto Kavik's parents, watching as they had a mini-squabble in the kitchen. He raised an eyebrow, but otherwise controlled his amusement, watching instead through a mostly impassive face.
After the elders left he turned to Kavik, smirking slightly.
"I'll help you with the water bending moves you need to practice." he said, remembering the offer he had made to Sai that had pretty much started this whole mess. "I know quite a few other techniques that will improve concentration and control over the water."

Kavik finished making dinner and served it to his family. "Dig in every one!" Everone ate very differently. After they offered a prayer to the spirits for supper and thanked Kavik for making in it. Shona ate politely and with manneres. Nezumi and Kokomi wolfed down there food. And Kavik? Well he took his time.
After supper Kavik got his tool and walked outside. "C'mon I'll show some bending techiques that I've been doing on my gliders. Ko-chan is doing dishes tonight and tommarrow is her turn to cook.
He finished fixing his skates and smiled. "Good, I use some thicker bone this time. I'll show you some moves and then you can show me some moves." Kavik walk to a near by fishing pond. "I use this to practice." Kavik got on the ice and did a few laps, he fell down a few time but once he got moving, he was very graceful. "My dad taught me to make skate when I was little, I modifiyed them and I've been practicing ever since. " He picked up speed and move his hands in motion, allow and few short ice spikes trail behind him. "I was think Hoji-Sempai. If Airbenders had glider for the air. What do you think about gliders for the ice? Waterbender can be so...graceful and smooth apon it"
