Hoji sighed and continued on around the lake, pushing himself carefully foreword. Listening to Kavik he nodded and tried to keep a rhythm, besides being the most beat less person in the entire water tribe. He bit his tongue and continued his shaky way around the frozen pond, sliding one foot in front of the other carefully.
Kokomi's voice turned him toward Kavik, now on cracking ice. Hoji's eyes widened as he realized there was no way he could get over there quick enough to help him. He narrowed his eyes and shifted sharply on his skates, bending water over them so they where frozen to the lake. He took a deep breath and moved his arms upward, concentrating.
The water that held Kavik under turned into a mixture of ice and snow, a soft bank that rose a good ten feet in the air before settling over the pond and freezing again.
Hoji swayed despite the ice holding him upright. It had been a complicated maneuver and he was already tired from all the other bending exercises he had done that day.
His eyes closed as he pitched forward on the ice, unconscious.

Kavik saw Hoji fall. "HOJI" Shouted the bender as Kokomi ran and caugh him in mid fall. "Gotcha!" Kavik took off his skates and bolted to Hoji
"Is he ok Ko-chan?" Kokomi nodded "Yeah he's ok Kav, he just overdid it. I won't wake him up just yet I'll bring him inside and warm him up. Peppermint tea will do the trick too." Kokomi carried him inside and layed him in Kavik's bunk. "Kav? Do you have the tea?" Kavik came in with the tea think franticly: Why do I always mess things up. Now Hoji is unconscious because I dicided to be a ditz..and- "FISH HEAD SNAP OUT OF IT!" Kokomi shouted to get Kavik focus. He nearly spilled the tea. "I swear...you're so clueless. Now I'm gonna get cleaned up, You make sure he wakes on his own..got it?" The waterbender nodded.

Hoji fell and was completely blacked out. He didn't know when Kokomi dragged him inside or else he surely would have something to say about it.
He woke up as Kokomi yelled at Kavik to concentrate. Not, moving he continued to breath in deeply and evenly, not giving any clue that he was awake. Thinking about what happened it wasn't really any surprise that he became unconscious; it really was a complicated piece of bending.
If he could have rolled his eyes he would have, even in an emergency both of the siblings still bickered like little kids. He sighed and opened his eyes, sitting up slowly. He was in an upright position when he realized how tense and stressed the bending he had done made him.
Hoji got off the bed, not noticing Kavik just outside the room, and began to go through his morning stretches that he had previously missed due to the earthquake.

Kavik saw Hoji leaving his bedroom and tried to stop him. "Hey! Whoa! You just woke up, you should take it easy for a little bit, ok? You scared us when you fell like that." Kavik turned and faced him "I wanted to thank you for saving my life...it means a lot to me that you accually made an effort." Kavik noticed that Kokomi left. "Where did she go?" "I'm over here Fish-Head" Called out Kokomi as she appeared from the front with Shona. Shona looked the boys and notice that everything seemed alright now. "Kokomi told me what happed, I'm glad that everyone is ok, but Kav, I know you love to glide on the ice, and I've seen your bending improve because of it. But pay attention next time. Hoji? Will you be staying over night or will you be leaving to go home?"

Hoji raised an eyebrow and shrugged at Kavik a little grateful for his concern. "I'm alright, honestly, this stuff has happened before." he said, still stretching out his stiff muscles.
Hoji was a little shocked when Kavik said that he saved his life. "I don't think I actually saved it." he said awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck. "Maybe prolonged it a few more days."
Then Shona came in and asked Hoji where he was going to do next. The young water bender looked over at Shona and bowed deeply, still tense. "I was just going to show Kavik a few more techniques that would help him with his water bending, then I was planning to go home." Hoji explained, slowly straightening up.
Glancing over at Kavik he chuckled slightly. "That is if the great ice-glider of the northern tribes is still willing to learn." he said, half-amused that Kavik's mother was scolding him for falling into the not-so-frozen pond.

Kavik chuckled, "Oh yeah, of course I wanna learn." Kavik grinned and bowed to his father. "Yes Papa, I'll be more careful." Shona smiled at Hoji, "Kavik should he happy to have a good friend like you Hoji. Haisho, haven't been around lately and Kav has been getting lonely." Kavik looked up. "Papa! Please...he doesn't need to here that!" Shona laughed, "Alright you boys practice and then it's to bed with you Kavik...I need help fishing tomarrow." Shona replied as he walked off into the backroom. "Yes father I understand." Kavik walked outside and waited for Hoji, thinking about what he said before."Maybe prolonged it a few more days." Kavik new he probaly joking when he said that, but those words stung nevertheless. "Maybe I'm just on borrowed time. Maybe I should have died at birth." He said quietly not looking inside for Hoji

Hoji bowed to the elder man and then followed Kavik outside, thinking to himself. Who was Haisho? A brother or maybe a former best friend. He shrugged. It didn't really matter and it wasn't his business to ask. Although he would like to know.
Hoji walked up next to Kavik, raising an eyebrow. The boy was acting a little moody, maybe because of something his father had said.
"I was just joking you know." he said, bending some ice from the edge of the canal into the palm of his hand. "I say stuff like that." he continued, manipulating the water in his hand. "Don't take it seriously, it's just my wry attempt at humor."
Hoji stepped back from his place by Kavik's side and sat down. "Come on." he said, still playing with the ice in his palm. "I know you showed me you cane make perfect spheres but lets see if you can copy some other actions."

Kavik knew that Hoji was kidding, but that didn't help the fact that the words still hurt. I'm simply on borrowed time
"Ok I'll try that" Kavik watched Hoji carefully mimicing his movements. He made spheres, cubes pyramids and out of boredem...animal shapes. Deer, cows, seals, walruses and..."Look! I made you Hoji!" Kavik created a crude shape of a human out of the water and ice that he was manuipulating. "Not huh." Kavik began to play with the water some more. Not really paying attention. "Ummm I guess you're wondering who Haisho is. He was a friend of mine. Well was. He sorta had a falling out. He doesn't talk to me much. Just Vaja. Ever since he met her, he doesn't even the time of day." Kavik sighed and stopped bending. "And the worst part is, she hates my guts. Gah!" Kavik slumped down. "I know this sounds weird..but don't we count as friends?"

Hoji smirked, watching Kavik manipulate the water expertly, as if it was moving on it's own rather than by someones will. He didn't like making figures, it served no purpose to him, the only time that bending ever helped him was in a fight. He sat back and watched Kavik's creations through lazy eyes. Not bad, Hoji thought, he's going through these pretty easily.
He laughed at Kavik's crude human form. "Nice Kavik." he said, smiling. He raised an eyebrow as Kavik explained who Haisho was. The elder boy raised an eyebrow, lifting up a lip in a smirk.
"Good thing for me I'm not engaged, my parents would have to arrange it and right now my mother is too busy to worry about me marrying anybody." he said, slumped back on his shoulders.
Hoji listened to Kavik's question. "Friends?" he shrugged. "Sure. On one condition."
He paused, watching Kavik's expression carefully.
"Never make me go on those ridiculous gliders of yours again."
((Hoji has left the RP))

Kavik gave a rich grin followed by a loud bark-like laugh. "Aww C'mon! You look good on those gliders." Have was happy that he had a friend that won't abanoned him over a girl. He looked at the stars and the moon above and closed his eyes. "Mmm I like quiet nights like these. Good for thinking or meditating. Or like my dad use to do. Tell stories." Kavik opened one of his eyes. "Well It's getting late, and I need to go fishing tomarrow with Papa. Geh, I hate fishing. Not that I don't like the time I have with my dad, But I always some how fall into what ever body of water that we are fishing and get wet. Yeah but papa needs help so I can't abandon him." Kavik stood up and stretched. "I need some sleep so, I'll talk to you later, maybe tomarrow evening after I go fishing with my dad. Night Hoji!" Kavik winked at Hoji and walked back insided and into his bedroom. He took of his parka uncermoninous threw it on the ground and climb to the top bunk...and fell asleep.
Kavik left the area
