He looked up. "Ma'am... we need to find her."
She sighed, “No, no, I’m sorry I yelled at you,” She said letting go of him.
“I’ve looked almost every where but I know I’m forgetting some thing,” Raine’s mother rubbed her temples, “The cave!” She said grabbing Nakamura’s parka and pulling him with her while she ran until he caught up. “I have to get her out of here. There’s too much at stake.”
Raine’s mother kicked the small wooden door open and ran through the tunnel. She kept running up until she stopped when she saw a bundle at the bottom of the Cave, “Raine!” She said running down to her. “Mom? I thought you said you’d never come here?” “Never mind that. Sweetie, we have to get you out of here.”

As she pulled him down the street, he stumbled to catch up. Who does she think she is?! he thought. Then he remembered his own mother. They were probably always like this in these situations.
They ran into a cave with a wierd entrance. Wow... this place is nearly as beautiful as the cliff...
He kept running until he saw Raine, at the bottom. He looked at her. She'd been here for nearly 1 and a half days because of him. He looked away sadly.
He didn't think she'd forgive him. Just so long as he tried. He felt terrible about what he'd said the previous night. He didn't feel... in place here. He didn't deserve to be here. It made him feel terrible.
"R-Raine... I'm sorry... about last night... I didn't mean it..."

“It’s Ok Naka-” “Raine! You have to go!” Her mother yelled at her. Raine looked to her mother, “Where am I suppose to go, Mother!? I have to stay here! I could help!” She responded standing up. “Raine,” Her mother started, “Please….I don’t want this to have to come upon you. Please…For me?” Raine looked to her pleading mother. Tears forming in her mother’s eyes. Raine nodded and replied with her answer, “Yes, I’ll go.” “Thank you,” Her mother said embracing her, “Now run up to where you left your shoes and me and Nakamura will meet you up there with some supplies,” Her mother said sending her off. Raine quickly nodded and scurried off behind buildings to get to the cliff wondering how her mother knew about the cliff. Raine’s mother turned to Nakamura, “Nakamura, will you go with Raine? I know this is a lot to ask but I need someone to be with her and help her...….Please, will you?”

Nakamura had ben surprised at how quickly Raine had forgiven him. He realized that she could probably teach him something about forgiveness.
I wish she didn't have to leave. Then I could learn from her...
Then Raine's mom asked him to go. He didn't need more than a half second to think it over. "I'll go."
He quickly gathered what dry food he could, and some water. He packed it into his backpack, made of bones (the poles) and simple fabric. He quickly made his way to the cliff.
I wonder if she's still mad at me...
He saw Raine standing there. He walked over to her slowly. "R-Raine... I guess... we leave now...?"
He looked at her sadly. "I'm sorry Raine... I got us into this mess..."
He turned back to the town for a moment, where people were still screaming outside the prison. Then he looked back out at the ocean.

Raine had made it to the cliff and put on her shoes and cloak. She had waited there for a few minutes before Nakamura was seen in the distance. Nakamura confronted Raine and started to tell her that he was sorry and it was all it fault. Raine walked up to him. “Nakamura, you lament too much. Learn from your mistakes and let them pass….Don’t hold on to them,” Raine said half smiling.
“Yeah, you’re right. We should be off…And thank you for coming with me….I know my mother probably threatened you with a cooked fish or some thing to make you come with me. So thanks again.” Raine said starting to walk but then soon stopped, “Well come on! We have to make in through the wilderness and across the artic! It’ll be great!” She said walking/ sliding on the ice.

He followed Raine, sighing inwardly. "Good bye, North Pole..." he whispered to himself. He wondered what would happen to his sister and family. He missed them already. And what would happen to him? Would Raine and he fight, and go apart sometime in their journey, and both DIE? Would they have a worse fate? Perhaps die by fire to the Fire Nation?
He shivered, not at the cold, but at the possibilities. Then, the other possibilities dawned on him. He could help other people. He could see the world. He could get to know people. He might be able to crawl out of his shell.
He smiled. The next few weeks would take some getting used to, but he thought he was up to it.
"Last one across the tundra is a rotting fish!" he yelled, running ahead of Raine.

Raine looked to the world around her. She never did look back to the city. ‘Well….This is it. I never thought I’d get to see the world. At least not like this.’ Raine thought taking a deep breath. They were off descending in to the icy tundra. Surviving on their own by each other’s side. ‘Damn... This is going to so awesome!’ Raine smiled to her self. “…Rotten fish!” She heard Nakamura scream as he ran off past her. Raine was confused at first but then scoffed, “What!? Hey! No far! You got a head start!!!” Raine yelled to Nakamura chasing after him. And so they started their journey in to the frosty wilderness.
